Junior Olympics Results

Jayne pulled a muscle coming out of the blocks in the 100 meter dash quarter finals.  This was her first race last Monday in the National Junior Olympics in Norfolk, Virginia.  She limped to the finish line, where she was seen by medics.  Jayne was told to rest and ice her injury and that it would take at least six weeks to heal.

She decided to run in the 4 x 100 on Friday because she didn't want to let the other three girls on the relay down after they had traveled 20 hours by bus just to run this race.  It was extremely hard to see her run in pain, but I'm so proud that she ran to allow the team to participate in Nationals.

Jayne has four more years of club track, so there is plenty of time for her to leave her mark.  Indoor track starts at the end of November.  Until then, thank you to all of our friends and family who supported Jayne's efforts during the club season.
