Practices for Indoor Track began today. The Mustangs Track Club practices at the Petit Center in Milwaukee where Olympic speedskaters train. It is cold in there!
Indoor track is a bit different than outdoor with the length of the races. Once around the track is 200 meters versus 400 meters in outdoor. The shortest sprint is 55 meters, replacing the 100 meter dash for outdoor meets.
Jayne will be running the 55 meter and 200 meter dashes. Since the team is much smaller in the winter, Jayne will not be running relays because there are not three other girls her age to form a relay team. The first indoor meet is Saturday, December 19th!
